Reinforced Concrete Construction For Small Projects
The forms are the biggest cost. This is how you cut it.
Most of the expense in a concrete structure is the formwork. My form-tie system replaces single-use steel ties with a reusable foam-covered spacer pipe: only the foam is thrown away. It lets a wall be extended, up or sideways, with the joint nearly invisible. And it removes a real danger during elevated-slab pours, where a supporting beam can flex and a distant jacking post can loosen and fall. The forms come apart and get used again.
